about
This song has a darker tone, but has a funny, satirical edge too. It's about how young people see themselves and how they think other people see them as if they are stars in their own movie. The production is laid back but melodic with unexpected flashes of instrumentation that introduce a bit of tension into the mix.
lyrics
Enigmas
Shades of dark hues
Alone in corner
But we see you
Oh what a pretty face
On such a dark soul
Oh how strange
Oh how beautiful
Funny how your presence lingers
Body face with heart and fingers ah
Picking off my skin oh
Funny how I feel your shivers
Though try to make feelings hinder ah
I’m in you win oh
Loveless
But the idea of loving you tempts me I see us in heaven
In the fires of my hell I can see us working well together
We’re so alarming
So thrilling
So charming
Oh darling
They’re staring
Cuz we be sparkling
We’re darkening
The mood cuz
We are
Enigmas
Shades of dark hues
Alone in corners
And they see me and you
Oh pretty faces
On such dark souls
Oh how strange
How beautiful
(Funny how your presence lingers
Body face with heart and fingers Ah
Funny how I feel your shivers
Though try to make feelings hinder Ah
Funny how your presence lingers
Body face with heart and fingers Ah
Funny how I feel your shivers
Though try to make feelings hinder Ah)

So good, it takes me every time i hear it... to hear it live in Leeds, was brilliant. Such a wonderfully put together song... one of my favourites magicmarker28
